Can an insurance company demand payment for a policy which no longer exists?

Can an insurance company demand money for a policy which was renewed on 1/3/2018? They are saying I gave the wrong information on a policy which ran from 1/3/2017 until 1/3/2018. This policy is now finished but they want backdated payment for this.

In short, no they cannot. They agreed to a contract that has now ended. As such, it is no longer enforceable.
