Will fuel stored in a metal cannister for two years still be okay to use?
I keep 10 litres of unleaded petrol in an approved metal cannister in my car boot for emergency use. As I keep my tank topped up, the contents of the can have now been sitting there for two years. Would the petrol still be fit for use? If not, how could I properly dispose of it?

Take it to a recycling centre. Do not use it in your car. I would not refill the can because the danger of carrying a spare can of fuel far outweighs the possibility of ever needing it, as you have found.
