When driving on a three lane motorway at 70mph I stay in in the middle lane - is this legal?
When driving on a three lane motorway at 70mph, I feel safer in the middle lane. This saves me a lot of lane changing. Is this legal?

Not if there is nothing in the nearside lane. You can be filmed by police in unmarked patrol cars and rightly prosecuted for "driving without due consideration for other road users". Even if your speedo says 70, you might be driving at between 65mph and 70mph.
