Should I buy a hybrid now or wait a few years and go for an EV?
I am considering purchasing a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid (and part exchanging my two year old Auris Hybrid). Given the improved range of EVs just coming on the market having 200-mile plus range (which would be plenty more than I need) I wondered whether waiting another year or two would be better economically for future trade-in values if EVs become significantly cheaper to own through Government policy pushing?

EVs are still niche vehicles and I don't think that's going to change dramatically in the near future. For many, hybrids represent the perfect halfway house, and I suspect second-hand values will reflect this for a while yet. If you cover no more than 100 miles per day and have easy access to a charging point at home or work, then an EV is ideal for you.

Far better to drive than the Auris. Hybrid models are very efficient. Interior feels upmarket. Plenty of equipment as standard.
