Although I've never run out of fuel, it does happen to many drivers and is generally simple to rectify. But what happens if you're driving an electric car and run out of battery power?

You'll have to call a breakdown firm and ask for them to recover you to the nearest charger. The AA's happy to do this, although it's not advisable - it could damage your batteries and you might be in for a long wait!
If you cover no more than 100 miles per day and have easy access to a charging point at home or work, then an EV is ideal for you.
