How long will the battery last on a used EV?
Buying a second-hand electric car seems to be tricky. How do you know how long the battery will last? What other things would need looking at?

Most manufacturers offer fairly extensive warranties for their EV batteries. Nissan, for example, currently provides an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty for the batteries on its Leaf. While batteries are expected to degrade over time, if they drop below 75 per cent of their original capacity in that time, Nissan will replace them. It's unusual for batteries to suddenly fail, and electric cars have fewer moving parts than combustion-engined cars so are generally very reliable.
If you cover no more than 100 miles per day and have easy access to a charging point at home or work, then an EV is ideal for you.
