If my car fails its MoT can I drive it home to get it repaired?
I took my car in for an MoT one month before it was due. My question is if the car fails its MoT can I drive it home to repair it and then return it back to the garage?

Yes, you can take your car away if the existing MoT certificate is still valid and there are no dangerous faults found during the test. However, if the car fails due to a serious safety fault, it should be repaired straight away. You can be fined up to £2500 and banned from driving for using a vehicle that has failed its MoT on a public road because of a dangerous problem.
