If you pass your test in an EV can you still drive other cars?

With the development and promotion of persuading people to use electric cars, if you passed your driving test in an electric car would you be restricted to driving only that type of car?

Drivers who pass their test in an electric car are free to drive petrol and diesel vehicles. But are restricted to an automatic only driving licence, due to the fact electric cars have no gears.
