A car drove into me at a junction - who is at fault?
I was driving on a main road and as I passed a road on my left, a car hit the left wing of my car. He is saying that I should have seen him and stopped and let him out. He was at a give way junction with two broken thick lines at end of his road.

It is definitely his fault, as he had crossed into your "correctly proceeding path". The very fact the give way lines are there means he has to give way to traffic on the main road.
