Holiday ire car

I had a wonderful, carefree holiday in South of France, until we came
to return the Avis hire car at Marseille Airport. The car had acquired a small chip on the windscreen not a problem I though since I had taken out excess protection insurance. Wrong. As I had hired the car through Carhire3000.com I had taken out their insurance. Avis charged me around £600 but suggested I should be able to reclaim from Carhire3000.com. Unfortunately, when I spoke to Carhire3000.com they pointed out that the two most obvious things you want to cover: windscreens and tyre damage, are excluded from their policy. Ouch. Well they got me but I hope you might be able to warn other people.

Since that is factual and readers can draw their own conclusions I can publish it. Worth checking if www.insurance4carhire would have covered you.
