My second point revolves around the new breed of electric plug in cars. I read a little while ago that GM is to bring a number of Ampera to the UK for testing and the same can now be said of the Prius plug-in from Toyota. I run a car share scheme with 9 members. We all have a journey to work of between 35 and 40 miles. On two of our six duty days (we work shifts around the clock) we work a large number of different shifts with differing start and finish times that mean car sharing is not possible. None the less, despite allowing for other requests to change to the plan for personal reasons I have estimated that over the last year we have saved about £1,000 each on our travel costs. Would it be likely that GM would consider allocating a test car to me, which I would then use to provide transport to my colleagues to further reduce our costs and improve the environment?
