Crossover matching
We are in late 60's and have narrowed our new vehicle choice to a Nissan Qashqai or Peugeot 3008, tending towards diesel engine, but in a state of confusion as to which make and model/spec might be the more reliable and provide best comfort (low noise and smooth ride). We live in Cornwall, our yearly mileage is about 10,000 and we generally keep vehicles for about 8 years. Could you offer any help in getting us over this dilemma, please? Price/value/available discount etc. are also factors but both cars appear similarly priced.

The smaller the wheels and the deeper the tyres then the greater
cushioning effect you will get. The base model Qashqai Visia on 15" wheels and Acenta on 16" wheels are more comfortable than the Tekna on 17" wheels and the blingly NTEC on silly 18" wheels. In fact, to may mind, 17" wheels and 18" wheels on the Qashqai
contradict the point of the vehicle:

The 3008 is basically more comfortable and more versatile. Just remember to avoid big wheels and low profile tyres:
