Automatic handbrake on Grand Scenic

I have an intermittent problem with the handbrake on my 2004 Renault Grand Scenic, and Renault say the motor in it is broken. What should I do?

Then it probably is broken and you need to replace it. Likely to be hard to find 2nd hand:
