Winter Tyres - Runflats or Conventional?
After two disastrous Winters with my BMW 320 Touring I've decided to invest in a set of Winter Tyres. I currently have 225/45 R17 runflats on the car. My supplier recommends 16 inch wheels with my choice of either runflats, or conventional tyres with a "gel repair kit". I favour the runflats for safety reasons but I'm worried they may not be as effective winter tyres as conventional. Any advice?

They are as effective. I did 1,200 miles on a set of Pirelli sottozero runflats on an F25 X3 last November.
