Stolen numberplate
My daughter lives near Richmond, West London. Last week she had her car's (Northern Ireland registered) number plate stolen.
She immediately reported it to the police, who sent round an officer the following day to check it for fingerprints. Not wishing to prejudge any outcome from this action, it may well prove inconclusive.
I imagine this may be more than petty vandalism. Could there be cloning implications - such as congestion charge / other motoring offence notifications over time to her as registered keeper? If so, having already reported the matter to the Police, what else should she do to protect herself from this?

Northern Ireland plates are nice and anonymous, and difficult to check, on (I don't think ANPR covers them).
