Which Mondeo - Ecoboost v TDCI

I'm looking at getting a nearly new Mondeo from a supersite. I'm retired and only do about 9000 miles a year (with a fair few short runs)and can't decide on getting another TDCI or going for the petrol Ecoboost automatic as they are considerably cheaper but less mpg. Any advice welcome.

The 2.0 TDCI is reliable. But I'd go for the Petrol Ecoboost. Much better value.
