Alarm / Immobiliser problem
I have trawled the topic thread already and tried numerous solutions thus far to no avail.
My car which i have had for a few years has developed this problem as described by many others.
The key fob no longer works for entry to the vehicle. Entering with the key produces the problem that the car will no longer start. Upon trying to start the car the following occurs - all lights come on and then go off as required, then once trying to start the alarm set light flashes continuously and the car fails to start. I have checked things like the heater plug which appears to have no problem i have also removed the top dashboard section and checked the connections etc there, still nothing. I have tried starting the car with the heater plug & top dash section disconnected... still nothing. I have also tried disconnecting the battery and still nothing.

It may be that you need to reset the ECU. You say you have disconnected the battery, but try this. Disconnect the battery and leave for 1 min. Then reconnect BUT DO NOT switch anything on at all, just leave for 30 mins. Then try to start the engine.
By doing this it allows the ECU to reset itself.
