Which size for cold weather tyres?
I'm considering winter tyres this year as my partner drives about 50 miles a day and I want her to be as safe as possible during the colder months.
I saw in various other posts that you rate the Michelin Alpin as a good winter tyre. The issue I have is what size of tyre to fit?
I currently have Michelin 225/45/R17 tyres fitted on the standard alloys but on the Michelin website tyres for my car go down to 195/65/R15? is it worth fitting the smallest possible as this would cut through the snow?

Better to go down to 16" wheels, probably with 50 or 55 profile tyres. Steel wheels best for winter.
