Insurance offers for written off cars

I recently had an accident, unfortunately the road was greasy and spun out on a bend, taking out a bt phone line pole in the process.

My car I have been told more than likely will be written off! Do I have to take the valuation offer from the insurance or can I question it? Can I also ask to keep the alloys and towbar?

Yes, you can do both, negotiate and settle. I doubt they will let you have the wheels because their contract with the salvage operator probably precludes it. Towbar, more likely.
