My wife and I are OAPs living in mid Wales and trying to make our car safer for limited winter driving and we know from FAQ that you advocate fitting four all season tyres but we can only afford to buy two at this time and wonder why you suggest they should be fitted to the rear rather than the front of a front wheel drive car when the two front (summer) tyres have good tread? We do not drive fast or "thrash" the car at any time nor does it very often go on motorways or trunk roads. (Winter tyres either two or four on separate rims are out of the question)
