Which diesels have torque convertors?

You replied to DLR from Sevenoaks that the way to avoid DMFs on diesels is to get one with a torque converter. Can you suggest some? We'll replace our 2.0 TDi Golf next year. The Golf has the awful VW DSG which is a horror to drive - it lurches when coasting to a stop because it changes down through the gears, and it's a danger when starting off using left foot braking because the brake interlock causes it to hesitate unpredictably. To get the car in the garage for those frosty mornings it mustn't be too big but I'd like five doors and a bit of luxury for long trips - leather seats, cruise and climate control (which are available on the Golf), but I want a "proper" automatic. We also keep a very reliable but rather uneconomical auto petrol '03 Volvo S60, now mainly for short trips and for the odd times we both need a car.
