Is the tax disc valid on a SORN car?
Looking to buy a car with valid MOT that was SORN'd in November 2011. The tax disc was not surrendered for a refund and does not expire until August 2012. I understand that as soon as the car is registered in my name the car is automatically "un-SORN'd" but my question is would the tax disc still be valid or would a new one be required?

The existence of a tax disc does not prove its validity. You would have to enquire of the DVLA if it was current or had been voided.
