Diesel recommendations

I have a GT TDi Golf Mk6 which I find very uncomfortable due to the narrow seat and offset pedals and so I intend changing it for another deisel car. Does the Scirroco have offset pedals and is it a generally a comfortable car? Also, is it suitable for 'everyday' use (50-mile round trip to work) or is it more a 'weekend' car? I like VW and will first of all consider a Scirroco but would also consider the Mazda6 and a Volvo C30 - are they all good cars in terms of comfort, driving position and confort? (I have no exerience of Mazda or Volvo).

The Scirocco is obviously more sporty than the Golf on which it is based. So the ride is even worse and the seats are the same or tighter. A Volvo C30 has a better (Focus) chassis. But if you want comfort, get a Mazda 5 1,6D TS2. It might look like a bus, but on 205/55 R16 tyres with soft, long travel suspension and long, flat, wide seats, it is supremely comfortable.
