Non-stick van

My wife and I (both aged 80) drive a Volkswagen 1.9 Golf manual diesel. A short while ago I asked your advice about changing to an automatic and your advice was that we might have left it a bit late for the changeover. Notwithstanding that we feel we would at least like to go as far as trying a test drive of an automatic of similar size, or slightly smaller, and wonder if you could make a suggestion as to what may be the easiest to adapt to?

New Ford C-Max or Grand C-Max 2.0TDCI Powershift. Test and video here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/c-max-2010 (The silver grey 'Grand C-Max had the 2.0TDCI and Powershift box.)
