Valued assistance
I too have taken out extra 'insurance' for £50 that ensures that any damage to my new-ish car is handled by the dealer rather than the cowboys. It only supplements comprehensive insurance but includes Breakdown Assistance and Courtesy Car.
I phoned my Insurer Zurich (as it is renewal time) to see what discount I could get for deducting these two items but they said the quote was a package that could not be split (as I expected).
But, in going through the car details I answered the reduced car value and this resulted in a slightly lower premium, which is a point you might like to remind readers as the new vehicle value after more than a year will have reduced by 15-20%. The Insurance Companies have £5,000 bands and dropping down a band saves money that they will not do unless prompted.

Many thanks. Useful point about those £5,000 bands. You only get 'market value' anyway, whatever value you put on the car.
