Qashed hopes
Re: the new Renault 1.6 Diesel in the Nissan Qashqai. It's of great interest to me. I checked with Nissan and found that they are now taking orders, unfortunately they have no plans to introduce an auto version with this engine.

No, Renault doesn't either. We asked about that at the launch of Renault's new twin clutch transmission, and it seems that the 1.6DCI produces too much torque, which is why the twin clutch box is only available with the 1.5DCI. Could be Nissan will develop a torque converter auto version of the 1.6DCI in due course, and will meanwhile stick with the 2.0DCI torque converter auto.
