Toyotal protection
I'm awaiting the arrival of my new top-of-the-range Prius. Toyota offers its own insurance, and if I've read your replies to recent letters correctly, you reckon this is probably better value because it gets round the credit-hire ripoff. Is that correct? Or is there a downside to switching to such a policy?

That is correct. It also ensures any damage is repaired to manufacturer standards and the warranty remains intact, which is not always the case with an insurance repair.
