Gas trick influencer

I am about to retire and would like to reduce running costs on my 60,000mile Chrysler 300 CRD. I would like to improve the fuel economy, which at the moment averages 30mpg. I am considering an LPG conversion or an ECU chip alteration. The vehicle has the Mercedes-Benz OM642 engine. I would welcome your thoughts.

You can't convert a diesel to LPG, though diesel engines have been successfully converted to CNG. You could get it chipped by someone like www.superchips.co.uk , but you will have to declare that to your insurer and any improvement in mpg may be wiped out by an increased insurance premium.
