Add min £55
I insured my car through One-call and unfortunately did not notice that to change my home address (amongst quite a long list of occurrences) they charge £55. The paperwork I downloaded did say ‘any change to your policy mid-term we will charge a £55 admin fee’. I just did not think it would include moving house. The policy only cost me £246.94 (male aged 60, annual mileage 12,000, Skoda Octavia Elegance TDi, Worcestershire area, 8 years N.C.) I wanted to warn others that this sort of hidden charging of over 22% of the annual premium if you buy a policy from One-call.

Many thanks. There is a warning coming up about this sort of thing from another reader. And, of course, a change of postal code can mean a change of premium anyway because the area might be higher risk. But you have to look at the whole picture. £246.94 plus £55 might still be a good deal, as long as you don’t make any further changes.
