Raising the hanker

I have always hankered after a Range Rover, but will never be able to afford a new one. I can possibly pay £20,000 - £25,000. What age of vehicle could I get for that money, what model should I chose and will I get 5 years trouble free motoring.

£25,000 money buys a 2006/56 TDV8 Vogue auto from a dealer, or a 2007 at auction. I cannot guarantee reliability. But complaints now seem to have dropped off and I hardly ever hear any apart from when people leave wine coolers connected while the car is parked and run the batteries down.
