Dearly departicled
I just bought a 2011, 2 litre diesel Toyota Verso to use for journeys of approximately 50 miles round trip and needing a low loading area for my parents mobility scooter. I use my wife's petrol Yaris for town driving. I believe the Verso has chain cam engine but also a PDF and DMF. How long and at what revs should it be driven for to clean the PDF. If I do use it for short journeys, how often does it need a longer ride to clear the PDF?

You mean a DPF (diesel particulate filter). Your 50 mile round trips should be enough to promote regeneration when needed. If you use it for repeated short runs from cold starts when the engine never gets fully to temperature, then the PDF is likely to get clogged with smuts. There is a chance that running it for 50 miles or so at more than 2,000rpm will then clear it.
