Buying a cheap to tax car for commuting

I need a new car 1.3-1.6 for commuting 60 miles a day with good mileage and low road tax. Needs to be value for money?

Mazda 2 1.3 TS2. £30 tax and no DPF, DMFs and other turbodiesel problems to worry about.
