Maintaining a car while I can't drive

For medical reasons I am not allowed to drive my 2006 A6 2.7 quattro for 6 months. I would like it to be taken for a run every 3 weeks (?) by my daughter or local garage man (on red plates?) to keep it in good order.

However, if I SORN the car, I presume the above cannot be done?
Should I cancel my car insurance for the 6 months?
Should I claim a road tax refund?
Should I do none of the above (and put up with the expense of insurance, tax) so the car can be driven legally by another to keep it in good order?

Keep it taxed and insured so it can be driven, and get it driven as oftens as is reasonable possible.
