Toyota Yaris Hybrid or Renault Zoe?
I'm looking to replace my car in next few months. My daily commute is about 10 miles each way. I play in a local orchestra (7 miles each way) and sometimes have to go to Milton Keynes (about 18miles each way) so I've been waiting on the Renault Zoe but this Toyota Yaris Hybrid has got me thinking.
I understand the Yaris runs on electric power then switches over to petrol? How many miles does the electric part work for?
Would you recommend the Yaris over the Zoe or sit-tight until the Zoe comes out in October?

Yes, I reckon they are direct competitors. With the Yaris there is no range anxiety so you don't have to worry about getting back after journeys of more than 40 miles outward. Road test and video of Yaris hybrid here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-yari.../? We found that after 40 miles or so it would run in EV mode right through villages. I think the Zoe will be the best electric car for suburban use. But I think the Yaris hybrid beats it for all round practiality.
