Italian driving fine. What should I do?
I received a fine for 120 Euros from Pisa Police due to entering a limited traffic zone. On the fine it stated that if I didn't pay or appeal within 30 days I would be charged 198 Euros. So I appealed within the 30 days and sent the letter recorded delivery.
I then received a letter back in italian asking me to pay 287 euros.
I didn't understand why as it was in Italian - I guess I lost the appeal. However, the inital fine said that I would not be charged any more if I appealed!
It did not state anywhere on the letter that if I lost the appeal I would be charged more.
Is there anything I can do? I feel like I have been taken for a ride and as I am about to have a baby I really can't afford this fine!
