Golf loosing coolant
I have a Volkswagen Golf diesel, 5 years old.
The coolant level goes down from halfway between the two lines to an inch below minimum in 300 miles.
Maybe it started when I had a new timing belt and water pump. Any suggestions?

If you are using coolant then yes, it could be lost from the pump itself caused by the greater tension of the new timing belt. If the waterpump is leaking then it's a big job to replace it and the timing belt again. That's why it's always sensible to replace belt, tensioner, small pulleys and waterpump at the same time.
