How reliable is Toyota's IQ?

Which? Magazine [August 2012] said that "Toyota's IQ has performed badly for reliabilty this year, partly due to recalls for its steering system". I found this surprising, given 12 years experience with the marque. Please let me have your take on this. Thanks.

This is simply down to the way Which assesses reliability. Actually, Toyota puts its hands up and fixed faults more readily that most other manufacturers and I would not make a car down for an admitted fault fixed quickly under a manufacturer recall programme.
