Importing a car from Jersey

Where can I find information on converting a Jersey Channel Islands registered car into a UK one. Is type approval a requirement here?

I think it's a straightforward import as long as the car has been resident in Jersey for a year or so and has done more than 2,000 miles. I think no VAT to pay. Check with HMRC.
