Should I reattach the engine cowling?

The plastic engine guard has fallen off the bottom of our Citroen Berlingo van. Are we ok to carry on without it? The van has done 125k and we are replacing it within the next 3-4 months anyway.

Winter is coming. A lot of rain. Without the plastic guard you could suffer from moisture ingress problems.
