Family car for living 1km up
We're a family of two adults, a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old. We currently own a Hyundai i30 estate diesel (the best car we've ever had, and a complete bargain) and (on the basis of a good experience with the i30) a Hyundai ix20 petrol.
Both cars are automatics as my wife has an auto-only license. We're soon to move to the French-speaking part of Switzerland and will be living 1km into the Jura mountains.
Whilst the roads are cleared very efficiently, locals have recommended we get a 4-wheel-drive car. For the next few years we'll be needing quite a lot of luggage space (pushchair, then kids' bikes etc.)
We'll be buying on arrival in Switzerland - to get a LHD and avoid import tax, so would be very grateful to know what you'd recommend to fit the bill please?
Good condition 2nd hand is fine, and budget up to £20k max. As a secondary question, what do you recommend is the best way to sell our 2 UK Hyundais in the next month?

Either sell the Hyundais to a Hyundai dealer or sell using www.sure-sell.info . Winter tyres are more important in winter than four wheel drive (and I think compulsory in Switzerland). But 4WD + winter tyres is best of the lot. I see a lot of RAV-4s and Subaru Foresters in Switzerland. But you could try a Hyundai ix35 4WD or a Nissan Qashqai 4WD.
