What car for varied driving and short runs?
Due to a change in job I now drive a total of ten miles a day. At weekends we drive around 100 miles and on visits to friends and family we will travel about 400 miles.
I have a Toyota Avensis 1.8 and I am wondering if it is worth changing my car to cope with the varied driving. Would it be worth getting a Hybrid or should I keep the Toyota (it is 8 years old)?

Unclear whether you want to jump to a new hybrid or not. A new Avensis 1.8i Valvematic probably makes the best sense.
