Peugeot 307: lights switching off/on while driving!

Peugeot have recalled 307s for a fault causing headlights to switch off unexpectedly. I'd not previously heard of this problem, but I do now!

In brief. My headlights switch off randomly while driving (and nearly always when I indicate!). This issue has spread from only happening occasionally when set to automatic. Recently the problem became really bad with full beam not working either.

I initially contacted Peugeot who offered to carry cost of repair but no Peugeot garage can find a fault as nothing shows on computer. I have spent too much money in too many garages with no success on resolving this. It is so dangerous!

I can be driving at speed in the dark and the lights just go off! (Incidently, my lights will also come on in full daylight when set to auto).

This is a problem with can bus electrics. You could try www.yell.com 'car electrical specialists' and get an expert to try to track down the reason for the fault.
