Hyundai iX20 ISG isn't working

I purchased a Hyundai iX20 Style with ISG as standard in January 2011. The ISG has only worked three or four times in this period. The car has been back to the dealers on a number of times without too much success. A new battery and sensor were fitted it worked for about three days then stopped.

Hyundai tell me that the battery must maintain a charge of 94% or over for the ISG to work. Every time my battery is in to be checked it is always below this figure consequently they blame me as i have only covered 10,600 in this time, but the ISG has never worked since day one. Am I to be expected to keep the battery on charge, what happens when I go away for a week or two.

If the criteria is so critical on the battery this should be clearly in their documentation and specifications. I am not the only one there are others on the Hyundai forum and in the CSMA magazine. Are any forum members aware of this problem.

ISG will not work if there is not enough charge in the battery or if the ambient temperature is too low. So it will not work on cars used for repeated short runs from cold, especially in the winter.
