Engine power measurement

Brake Horse Power = bhp.

My Honda Civic engine shows PS and Kw. What is PS, as I do not see other manufacturers using this measurement when I want to compare specifications.

It's a German measurement also referred to as hp and used throughout Europe, equivalent to 1.0139 bhp. In fact I use it rather than BHP because I find it ludicrous to covert say 130PS to 128.2bhp. Who cars about 1.8bhp? 1 Kw is equivalent to 1.341 bhp or 1.3596 PS.
