Insurance, premium rise after 'no fault' incident

My car was hit whilst parked outside my house. The driver was traced after two independent witnesses came forward (she did a runner). The Police prosecuted her (three points and a fine). My insurance company reimbursed my no claims bonus.

I am now renewing and have been told that the increase in my annual premium is because of the 'accident'. Is there any way of pursuing the extra money I am charged through her insurance company? I am incensed by this!

You could get an estimate of the increase for the next five years, then use

www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

to sue the other driver for it.
