Start/stop buttons- why do they exist?
Why have manufacturers moved away from the traditonal ignition key in favour of start/stop buttons?

Removes the steering wheel locking mechanism from the steering column where it can cause severe knee damage in a crash. This helps get the car a better NCAP score. (But makes it much easier ti steal.)
