Faulty car - lost faith in it - can I reject?

I have recently bought a second hand Mercedes-Benz E270. Within a day of having it a fault code started to show on the display. I immediately notified the dealer and dropped it off two days later and he booked it in with Mercedes-Benz to diagnose the fault.

In the meantime I did some of my own research and found that the fault was due to the Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) pump. It turns out that these pumps have a pre-determined life on them and they have to be replaced after a certain number of foot presses.

Today, the dealer has come back to me to say that Mercedes have said that it was not the pump its self that showed up as being faulty, but the control module which is going to be replaced. If the pump is going to fail at some point in the not too distant future and need replacing at a cost of well over £1000, I have completely lost faith in the reliability (and safety!) of this car. Do I have grounds for rejecting this car and asking for a full refund?

"Losing faith" is not legal grounds to reject a car.
