1.4 TSI - belt or chain?
I was told this morning by the service department at the local Volkswagen dealer the new 1.4TSI has reverted to cambelt, the lad said it wasn't to be changed on the same time scale as the diesel. Have you any more information on this?

Apparently the new 140PS TSI with cylinder shut-off has reverted to timing belt. But there is a bit of confusion because when you look at the top of a 1.2TSI 105 or 1.4TSI 122 engine there is a plastic cover over the timing chain.
