Are DMFs a problem across the board?

Are DMF's a weak point across the board, or are some manufacturers/models better than others? If so, which are the better ones?

Some are better than others. Renault's new 1.6DCI 130 is probably best of the lot. Mazda's Skyactive diesels should be okay. Don't hear of any trouble with Hyundais or KIAs. Do hear lots of problems with VAG 1.6TDIs and Volvo D5 diesels.
