Mercedes Auto Gearbox - is it right that it's sluggish?

I always understood that Mercedes Automatic gearboxes were some of the best. I am considering buying a new E-Class Auto with the 7G Tronic transmission but all the recent reviews I can find are saying that the Auto is "slow witted", "Sluggish", etc.

Depends on the engine. With the C250CDI engine it is, and also hunts at town speeds, though works fine on the paddles. The 7-speed dual clutch boxes in the A and B Class are better.
